whitelist.json
[
  {
    "uuid": "b876ec32-e396-476b-a115-8438d83c67d4",
    "name": "Technoblade"
  }
]

Add the object to the array in your existing file, then run /whitelist reload.

ops.json
[
  {
    "uuid": "b876ec32-e396-476b-a115-8438d83c67d4",
    "name": "Technoblade",
    "level": 4,
    "bypassesPlayerLimit": false
  }
]

Level 4 is full admin (stop, op, ban). bypassesPlayerLimit lets an op join a full server.

banned-players.json
[
  {
    "uuid": "b876ec32-e396-476b-a115-8438d83c67d4",
    "name": "Technoblade",
    "created": "2026-09-16 08:08:06 +0000",
    "source": "Server",
    "expires": "forever",
    "reason": "Banned by an operator."
  }
]

Edit only while the server is stopped; a running server rewrites this file.

These files live in the server root next to server.properties. Need entries for a whole list of players? Use the whitelist and ban generator.

Technoblade’s Minecraft UUID

Technoblade’s permanent Minecraft UUID is b876ec32-e396-476b-a115-8438d83c67d4 (or b876ec32e396476ba1158438d83c67d4 trimmed). Because usernames can change but the UUID never does, servers tie whitelist, ban, op and permission entries to this ID, so they keep working even if Technoblade renames. The block above also shows it as the NBT int array used by /data and data packs since 1.16, as the UUIDMost/UUIDLeast longs older worlds use, and the offline-mode UUID an online-mode=false server would generate for this name.

Whitelist, op or ban Technoblade

Copy a command from the admin block and run it in the server console (without the slash) or in chat as an operator. Whitelist, op and ban work while Technoblade is offline; kick needs them online. If the server is stopped, paste the whitelist.json, ops.json or banned-players.json entry into the matching file next to server.properties instead.

Why is name history not shown?

Mojang removed the public name-history API in September 2022, so no tool can reliably show a player’s past usernames anymore. Only the current name resolves.
